About Company
Brick Island will identify niche markets that are currently
under-penetrated by major software vendors. We will write
world-class customized software for these markets and seek to become
the de facto software standard for the industry. Our customers will
be companies that do not have a large IT investment and will greatly
benefit from industry-customized software. We will work with market
insiders and partner businesses entrenched in these markets to
develop the ideal product and help drive sales.
Brick Island has been building applications for the intermodal
industry since 1998, and our business consultant Paul Turina,
co-founded an intermodal terminal and managed the operations of this
multi-site, multi-state company for over 20 years. Our experience
tells us that this industry has no software built for its’ unique
needs. The intermodal industry is comprised of many small to
medium-sized companies with little or no Information Technology (IT)
staffs. These terminals will typically manage operations with a
handful of spreadsheets, or maybe a home-grown system, which usually
leads to errors, inaccurate inventories, slow billing and general
inefficiency. Our application will fill this void, and allow these
terminals an affordable and professionally built application built
upon our years of industry experience.
Principals
Our management philosophy is based on responsibility and mutual
respect. People who work at Brick Island do so because we have an
environment that encourages creativity and achievement.
The principals of Brick Island bring over 40 years of
experience from the financial services industry, all three worked as
enterprise level application and infrastructure architects.
They are committed to the business plan for Brick Island which is to
identify niche markets, understand their needs for software and
build this software and provide it as a service, keeping costs low
for all users.
